We treat our products with Penofin Ultra Premium Red Label, a penetrating oil finish that provides 99% UV protection against fading. Penofin comes in ten transparent wood stain tones, with Clear and Transparent Cedar being two of our favorites.

For periodic maintenance, wipe cedar clean of dust, pollen, dirt, etc. (no sanding or stripping is required). Penofin recommends their Pro-Tech Wood Cleaner #2, which is biodegradable, safe on soil and plant life, and VOC-free. Once clean and completely dry (48 hrs), reapply Red Label with a brush, pad or sprayer, wait 30 minutes for maximum penetration, then wipe with a clean dry cloth to remove excess oil. Penofin recommends preserving horizontal surfaces (chair seats and table tops) every 2 years. We spot-treat scuffs, heavily used, or thirsty looking areas as needed, rather than following a set maintenance schedule.
